How to bring traffic for affiliate marketing startup with Google blogger SEO gadgets

Introduction

How I bring traffic for affiliate marketing startup with Google blogger SEO gadgets

Yes, it is today's topic. Google's on-page SEO has improved dramatically with its new version of SEO gadgets. The availability of Google Search Console and Google Analytics makes it easy to monitor the progress of our blog performance. The Google SEO gadgets are plugins exclusively for Google Blogger. You don't have to pay money for these great tools. I will share some ideas and good practices regarding on-page SEO in Google Blogger.

Google Blogger

Keywords

First,  choose the primary and secondary keywords or phrases you would like to rank in Google Search Engine. Based on these keywords, you expand them to become the Title and content.

Now, type in Google Search; it automatically suggests related keywords and phrases. That would give you plenty of ideas and help you figure out your primary keywords. Use them in the blog title, post titles, and content. It should be natural, don't just stuff in the keywords.

Title

  • The blog title needs to be less than 100 characters, Note: it is in 'settings.'
  • Use the primary keyword in the blog title.
  • Do not stuff keywords in your blog description. Make it readable and natural. (500 characters)

  • Keep your keywords in post titles related and aligned with your primary goal.

Examples: Type in the Google Search to find my post ranking pretty good in the search results.

My blog was created in September 2021 and got indexed several weeks later. With Google Search Console I noticed Google engine crawled onto the blog every day and let me know how my blog progressed in terms of the number of clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and average positions. It is encouraging to watch the traffic improve and got a ranking position.

Enable Meta Tags in Settings

  • Go to Settings > Scroll down to the 'Meta tags' on the left navigation menu.
  • Turn on the Meta tags.

Ensure the Search Description is Visible

On the right sidebar, scroll down you see the 'Search Description.' Here enter your meta description. (150 characters) If that option isn't there, go back to the 'Settings' and turn the Meta tags 'On.'

How to do on page SEO in Blogspot

Meta Description

The meta description tells search engines what our content is about.

Click the 'Search Description' drop down to enter your description on the right sidebar. Here are a few pointers to get your meta description right:

  • Use your primary and secondary keywords
  • Ensure a maximum of 150 characters
  • Avoid keyword stuffing. Make it readable.
  • Keep it unique.

URL

URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator.

On the right sidebar, you'll notice there's a permalinks option. You may choose a 'Custom Permalink.' for URL if you want to change the default link with a date.

  • Use primary keyword
  • Enter URL in lower-case letters
  • Separate words with a hyphen
  • Try to keep it short.

Site Structure

Make your blog user-friendly to the readers and search engines as well making it like a well-structured organigram.

Enable clickable internal links to the homepage and other popular posts ( recommend two internal links for each post) and two external links to influential high-ranking sites such as LinkedIn, Wikipedia, Quora, etc.

Ensure a user-friendly navigational menu.

Headings

H1 is your main heading and usually the biggest in font size.
  • Only one H1 for each post. The keywords on the post title are the largest situated at the top. It sums up and tells the search engine what the post is about.
  • H1 should be used only ONCE in a post.

H2 are for sub-headings
  • The H2 keywords are a little bit smaller in size compared with H1. They are the main points of the content. Use similar and related keywords to the H1. Each H2 will include the main keywords but offer a particular focus.

H3 is for sub-topics of H2.
  • They are in the subcategories in blog content, making it easily scannable by the search engines.

H4 is a sub-topic of subheading.

NLP & LSI

Write your content as if you're talking to a friend. Google wants you to make your content conversational. Now, its powerful Machine Learning and AI algorithms do NLP.

What is NLP?

NLP is Natural Language Processing.

The context should be natural, conversational, simple, and easy to understand.

LSI is Latent Semantic Indexing, and it's good to use synonyms and related words to strengthen your content.

Internal & External Links

Google search engine crawlers want to crawl and index all the relevant content on the internet.

A well-thought linking structure would enable your website to stand a good chance for ranking. Your content relevance and value go further by linking to influential external sites. Don t be afraid to link to other relevant external sites.

Anchor Text

Hyperlinks are the clickable text within your content. The clickable links help your website visitors and search engine bots get clarity if descriptive and relevant.

They are designed to take you from one post to another post within the website or to an external website.

The search engines can crawl and index different content pieces that positively impact user experience.

Anchor text should be relevant, descriptive.

Image Alt Text

Use images and videos in your posts. Add variety, which is good for you because your website visitors will engage more with your content. They'll spend more time, which can help you perform well on Google Search Results.

Currently, search engines cannot determine what your image is about. Using relevant, descriptive text as alt text (alternative text) for photos would help. Google shows your pictures high on Google search results.

Add Alt Text in Blogger

  • Click the image and then the Settings wheel icon:
  • Then enter your alt text:

Sitemaps

A sitemap is like a directory of the pages and posts on your site.

Sitemaps help search engines crawl and index your site effectively.

There are two types of sitemaps:

  • HTML sitemap
  • XML sitemap

HTML sitemaps are meant to help users navigate your website with ease. XML sitemaps give a roadmap for crawlers to crawl and index pages and posts. XML Sitemaps are auto-generated on Blogger.comThese basic steps can definitely help you rank on Google. Here goes a very informative video on Google Blogger page SEO. I find it very useful and highly recommend it to you. It recaps the above information in detail. Cool stuff!!!

Final Thought

The easier way to understand the H1 tag is to imagine writing an outline of a large document. The main Title of your paper will be your <H1>, your main points the <H2>, and sub-points the <H >. As a content creator, I used to write from my mind like conversations with friends. It seems normal in our daily email exchange, e. However, it is not appropriate on the platform for bloggers and content writers. In the era of artificial intelligence, it is a different ball ga e. Our content needs to rank high in Google to be readily visible to the audience, e. Classic writing will not take us to a good rank position n. We need to gear our content writing in line with the SEO requirements to organize our posts.  Happy Affiliate marketing!
