The Dos and Don'ts of SEO - Affiliate marketing startup with Google Blogger

Let us ask ourselves some questions before we proceed to the subject  Dos and Don'ts of SEO.
 .
  • Does your blog/website look trustworthy?
  • Is the message clearly written?
  • Does it provide helpful information/resources to users?
  • Is everything visible with regards to contact information?
  • Does it provide a solution?

The Dos
Write unique content
To become a leader in your field means that you have to create something new. You have to develop that offer a fresh perspective.
It's generally a poor idea to add pages where content only exists because you think a page will be indexed. Every piece of content on your website should be uniquely different and present helpful information for your readers. Search engines like Google devalue content that has only appeared on other sites before, ensuring that those who initially offer an idea get the credit they deserve.

 Make pages for your users.

When you focus on creating user-friendly content, your content will eventually be more successful.   If you're trying to determine if a page is helpful to your users, ask a few questions about each page.

Create useful content

Users search on the internet for a few primary motives:
  •  Information: Research, entertainment, news
  •  Communication: email, social networks, and IMing
  •  Ask questions on Q&A communities, go to online chats, or ask for help.
  •  Purchases: buy products and services, compare products/prices.
  •  Every piece of content on your site must fulfill these roles. Moreover, every piece of content must be helpful.
  •  One way to think about website copy is that every page answers users' questions. It can also be helpful to take note of the way the page answers the question, then ask whether the answer given is thoughtful and complete.

Do an on-page SEO Checklist.

1. Include Your Keywords In Your URL
For example, my keyword for this page is "On-page SEO checklist."
Your URL tells Google what your page is all about.
A keyword-rich URL can improve organic CTR.

2. Use Short URLs
Keep your URLs as short as possible.
A recent analysis of 11.8 million Google search results showed that short URLs rank best in Google.

3. Front-Load Your Keyword In Your Title Tag
For example, the keyword for this post is "on-page SEO checklist."
Put your keyword in the front of your title tag whenever possible.

4. Embed Title Tag Modifiers
Title modifiers are phrases typically added to search queries, such as the year or "best." This is generally done by search users because they want ultra-specific results. Here are some examples of SERPs.(search engine results page)

5. Use Your Keyword Once In The First 150 Words
Google puts more weight on your page's first 100-150 words. Put the "on-page SEO checklists" keyword at the start. So make sure to use your keyword once here.

6. Use Your Keyword in H1, H2, or H3 Tags
Include your keyword in H1, H2, or H3 tags.

7. Optimize Images
The images you use say a lot about your content.
Unfortunately, Google still can't "see" images as a human can.
So to help them understand your images, you want to optimize your image alt tags and filenames.

8. Use Synonyms and LSI Keywords
Don't stuff your post with keywords. Use keywords naturally, like in a conversation. Today, Google AI is intelligent. So instead of using the same keyword 1000 times, use synonyms and LSI keywords.
For example, you want to rank for "how to startup affiliate marketing." Well, the synonyms like:

  • Affiliate marketing startup
  • Starting your affiliate marketing
  • What is the Affiliate market, and How to startup
  • How to set up an affiliate marketing business

Next, add some LSI keywords.
LSI stands for Latent Semantic Index(ing). This computer program is designed to learn various synonyms based on context. It's a method that uses mathematical techniques to find relationships between words and concepts within a piece of content.

9. Use External Links
Make sure to link out to 3 -5 authority sites in your article.
For example, Wikipedia and Google.com.

10. Use Internal Links
Whenever you publish a new post or page, link to 2 other posts/pages on your site.

Avoiding mistakes when it comes to SEO

Algorithms are constantly changing and adjusting, especially when searching rankings. Specific actions taken today can often lead to an unfair ranking penalty down the road. Most web surfers are interested in finding content that will be most useful, user-friendly, and unique.

4 on-page SEO Mistakes that can ruin a blog

The Don'ts

Don't Use Tricks
Do not play tricks with anyone's reputation. You will likely end up with a bad reputation! Instead, use your resources to build your reputation. You are in a race for having a good reputation, which may end up helping you. This means that you can use SEO or Google to your advantage. Avoid doing :
  • The power of keyword stuffing
  •  Call to action on your home page
  •  Invisible pixels
  •  Duplicate content is best avoided
  •  Article mining

 Don't use link schemes.
Link schemes are tactics used to quickly inflate a website's reputation by buying and trading links, a technique that has been uncovered by search engines and discredited. Some link schemes include:
  • Article directories
  •  Comment spam
  •  Linking to relevant resources
  •  Purchasing a domain that has already expired
  •  Link farms have many pitfalls regarding backlink popularity and quality.
  •  Keywords shouldn't necessarily be forced.
  •  Keyword Density is no longer as critical as it once was when determining a website's ranking on search engine result pages.

Final Thought

Think of yourself as one of your possible customers.
  • Does the phrase you type produce a page that ranks competitively with the high-quality pages now ranking?
  • By searching the current keyword phrases that the visitors to your site are typing in now, would you be satisfied with the results?
  •  If the visitor's search term is very similar to a key phrase that you want to rank for, would the page be competitive with the pages on top?

Today, the success of a website is dictated by the quality and content, as well as the customer's experience on the page, and not the number of keywords. If you have additional blogger SEO, you are welcome to add them in the comment area. See you guys in the next post. Happy Affiliate marketing!
